Insurance Information

Medicare and many private insurers cover PET scans for a variety of cancers, including lung, colorectal, lymphoma, breast, esophageal, head and neck, and melanoma, as well as other applications including cardiac viability, epilepsy, and Alzheimer’s disease. Private payments are also accepted.

Southwest PET/CT Institute accepts Medicare and many private health insurance plans, and is continually adding other insurance plans on a regular basis. We are also contracted with Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (A.H.C.C.C.S.)

Please contact our facility at (520) 321-4057 for further information. Although Medicare reimburses a select number of clinical indications, many private insurers also cover PET scans for a host of non-Medicare reimbursed indications.

Our staff is highly experienced with securing the required approvals and pre-authorizations for PET scans with all major insurance plans. Additionally, Southwest PET/CT Institute performs all insurance pre-authorizations and patient scheduling for referring physician's offices, saving their administrative personnel a great deal of time and administrative disturbance.
